- Quires 1-448 ff. 1r-351v
- Quire 456 ff. 352r-357v
Quire signature in Greek numerals in light brown ink, sometimes faded, on the first folio recto and the last folio verso of the quires, lower margin, from f. 8v (αʹ) to f. 357v (μεʹ), missing on ff. 56v, 104v, 153r, 168v, 185r and 216v.
Five quire signatures in Greek numerals from a different sequence, but consistent with the main one, remain on the upper right-hand corner of ff. 17r (γʹ), 25r (δʹ), 33r (εʹ), 233r (λʹ) and 257r (λγʹ).
Condition
In good condition. The initial and final folios are subject to greater wear and tear; a patch covers three lines on f. 1v, rewritten; the last folio verso is illegible. f. 1 has a torn seam, ff. 1-5 have some holes between the columns of text, repaired in 2020. The outer margin of f. 51 is partially cut, the inner margin of f. 54 is torn, f. 269 has a tear, f. 142 an eraser smear. The margins of ff. 52, 106, 117, 202, 211, 217, 255, 280, 318, 319 are cut at the line of justification.
Layout
ff. 1r-326r: written space 215 × 150 mm. 27 lines per column. Pricked in the outer margins. Ruled in hardpoint, system Leroy 1, type Leroy 66C2f .

Pricking does not survive Ruled in hardpoint, system Leroy 1, ff. 326-335 (quires 41-42) type Leroy 66C2f (as ff. ff. 1-326); joint ff. 336 and 343 (outermost folio of quire 43) type Leroy C 02C1a ; ff. 337-342 and 344-357 type Leroy 00C1 .
Hand(s)
The manuscript is written in a minuscule script, upright or slanting slightly to the right, in dark brown ink, hanging from the ruling line. There is only moderate variation in letter size.
Headings are written in Alexandrine majuscule style. Scholia and annotations are written in majuscule with a large use of suprescript abbreviations.
Syllabic abbreviations are in use only for nomina sacra. Breathings are round and mute iota is occasionally adscript.
Punctuation includes the middle and upper point and full stop.
The last two texts on ff. 357r-357v are written in a mixed minuscule script, slanting to the right, in light brown ink, with extensive use of contractions and abbreviations.
Decoration
A pyle on f. 1r, partially lost, with mosaic pattern in blue, purple, green, orange tiles and spiral leaves on corners.
Major initial outlined in red and green on f. 1r.
Small initials in red ink from f. 14r.

f. 357r: an owernship note on th upper margin: ‘Τοῦτο τὸ βιβλίον ἔστιν κτῆμα τοῦ Κονσταντίνου [unclear] τοῦ Γαρδικίου’.

355 × 270 × 110 mm.
History
Provenance and Acquisition
The manuscript comes from the Pantokratoros Monastery on Mount Athos (see notes on ff. 1r, 3r): from the possession notes is not clear whether Θεολόγος refers to Gregorius of Nazianzus or a monk of the monastery. The possession note of Constantinos of Gardikion on f. 357r is in all likelihood earlier.
Purchased from Pantokratoros by Richard Bentley (1662-1742) , Master of Trinity College.
Bequeathed by Bentley to the College Library after his death.
